MADZINE

MADZINE (MAD), a multimedia artist based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, primarily operates in Europe
and Japan. His distinctive methodology involves examining the mathematical principles of nature
through a combination of natural, electronic, acoustic, and digital elements, emphasising
improvisation and equilibrium.
MAD’s artistic career emerged from the underground art communities of Tokyo and Berlin, where
his engagement with the dynamic cultural contexts of these cities shaped his evolution into a
cross-disciplinary practitioner.
Throughout Europe and Asia, MAD has engaged in live performances and exhibitions, including a
collaboration with the Taiwanese ensemble Go Go Machine Orchestra broadcast on KEXP, a solo
performance at Super Dommune in Tokyo, and participation in various exhibitions and residency
programs across Europe and Japan.
In 2025, MAD introduced artificial intelligence (AI) as a creative tool, developing over 20 modular
synthesiser modules based on the VCV Rack platform and various offline standalone AI video
programs.
His professional activities that year extended to Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Finland,
Austria, the Netherlands, and Japan. He served as an EMS-authorised Soundfreak modular
synthesiser promotional artist, participated in modular synthesiser festivals in Berlin, Tokyo, and
Osaka, and resided at Sapporo’s Tenjinyama, where he exhibited video installations and
collaborated on works. Additionally, he toured performances and exhibitions with Sapporo butoh
dancer AKIYO across Japan and Europe.
Over the past decade, MAD has shared his adaptable and innovative sound design
methodologies through educational initiatives, consistently serving as a bridge connecting artists
from Taiwan, Japan, and Europe while organising cultural exchange activities globally.

台湾・高雄出身のマルチメディア・アーティストであるMADは、ヨーロッパと日本を拠点に活動
しています。彼は独自のスタイルで自然の数学的基盤を探求し、自然、電子、音響、デジタル要
素を即興的に融合させながら、その均衡を追求しています。東京とベルリンのアンダーグラウン
ド・アートシーンの中で築かれた彼の芸術的道は、これら二つの都市の活気ある文化の間で育ま
れ、クロスジャンルなアーティストとしての個性を形成しています。
MADはヨーロッパとアジアでライブパフォーマンスや展示を行い、台湾のバンドGo Go Machine
OrchestraとのKEXPでのパフォーマンスや、東京のSuper Dommuneでのソロライブを含む多くの
プロジェクトに参加してきました。さらに、ヨーロッパや日本での展覧会やアーティスト・イ
ン・レジデンスにも多数参加しています。
2025年からは、AIを創作ツールの一つとして活用し、VCV Rackプラットフォームをベースとした
20以上のモジュラーシンセサイザーモジュールと、様々なオフライン独立動作のAI映像プログラ
ムを開発しました。
同年、ドイツ、チェコ、イタリア、フィンランド、オーストリア、オランダ、日本など多くの国
で活動を展開し、EMS公認Soundfreakモジュラーシンセサイザー推薦アーティストとして、ベル
リン、東京、大阪のモジュラーシンセサイザー音楽祭に参加しました。札幌天神山での駐村では
映像インスタレーションと協働作品を展示し、札幌の舞踏ダンサーAKIYOとの日本‧ヨーロッパ巡
回公演と展覧会も開催しました。
10年以上にわたり、MADは自身の自由で柔軟なサウンドデザインの手法を教育を通じて共有し、
常に台湾、日本、ヨーロッパのアーティスト仲間たちの架け橋となり、世界各地で交流活動を続
けています。
