Lim Yong Ju (KOR:임용주)
Lim Yong Ju is a percussionist, composer, and electronic music producer whose work is rooted in the structure and balance of traditional Korean rhythmic patterns. He spent many years as a core member of GongMyoung, one of Korea’s leading world music groups, exploring the creative possibilities of instruments and sound. As a member of Modular Seoul, Yongju continues to create music that bridges traditional and electronic forms. His practice focuses on experimental sound-making that reinterprets traditional music and instruments. Yongju’s solo works include Mujangdan, The Quing, BBUREKA, and lull~Yuyeong (Modular Seoul), as well as the full-length albums BBUREKA and The Quing (Live).
임용주는 전통 장단의 구조와 균형미를 토대로 다양한 사운드메이킹 및 음악작업을 하고 있는 타악연주가이자 작곡가, 전자음악 프로듀서이다. 한국의 대표적인 월드뮤직그룹 ‘공명’에서 오랜 시간 악기와 소리에 대한 창작과 연주활동을 했다. 현재 ‘모듈라서울’의 멤버로서 다양한 음악활동을 하고 있는 임용주는 전통음악과 전자음악의 경계를 넘나드는 음악작업을 꾸준히 이어나가고 있다. 특히 전통음악과 전통악기를 활용한 실험적인 사운드메이킹을 추구하고 있으며 개인작품으로 <무장단>, <울릴 굉轟>, <붕괴 BBUREKA>, 등을 발표했으며 정규앨범 <붕괴 BBUREKA>, <울릴 굉轟 (Live)> 등을 발매하였다.
イム・ヨンジュは、パーカッショニスト、作曲家、そしてエレクトロニックミュージックのプロデューサーとして、韓国の伝統的なリズムパターンの構造とバランスに根ざした作品を制作しています。韓国を代表するワールドミュージックグループの一つ、GongMyoungの中心メンバーとして長年活躍し、楽器とサウンドの創造的な可能性を探求してきました。Modular Seoulのメンバーとして、ヨンジュは伝統音楽とエレクトロニックミュージックを融合させた音楽を作り続けています。彼の活動は、伝統音楽と楽器を再解釈する実験的なサウンドメイキングに重点を置いています。ソロ作品には、『Mujangdan』、『The Quing』、『BBUREKA』、『lull~Yuyeong』（Modular Seoul）があり、フルアルバム『BBUREKA』と『The Quing』（Live）もリリースしています。
